Reframing Design Strategy Through First-Time User Discovery

The Project: Reinvention Navigator is an AI-powered SaaS platform designed to help leaders make data-driven decisions during organizational change. The project focused on improving how users navigate and interpret the platform’s insights to better support end-to-end change management efforts. With increasing complexity in how organizations plan and execute transformation, the goal was to ensure the platform delivered clear, intuitive, and actionable guidance especially for users engaging with it for the first time.

My Role: I led end-to-end user journey discovery and synthesis for Reinvention Navigator Led uncovering first-time user friction and translating insights into prioritized backlog improvements within an Agile delivery model.

Our Approach:

  • Partnered with stakeholders to align on business goals and define six priority product areas

  • Designed task-based scenarios and conducted moderated user sessions with key personas

  • Captured and synthesized 100+ data points (Mural), identifying patterns and key themes

  • Translated insights into clear recommendations and collaborated with product and engineering to align on feasibility

Results & Impact

Delivered prioritized, research-driven recommendations that informed the product backlog and upcoming sprints, improving onboarding and early user experience while shifting the team’s focus toward first-time user needs.

Key Takeaway

Designing for new users exposes critical gaps faster, challenging assumptions and driving more intuitive, accessible product experiences.
